About the Healthy Baby Network
Being pregnant can be an overwhelming experience.
The Healthy Baby Network is a community–based prenatal care program that includes a unique network of local healthcare providers, retailers, government agencies, schools and community organizations that work together to coordinate prenatal care, education and social services for pregnant women.
The Healthy Baby Network does not charge a fee to use its services
Patients enrolled in the Healthy Baby Network can feel at ease knowing they have the guidance and services of a Community Navigator with years of experience in community outreach and maternity care. Each patient is assessed for programs that provide medical, nutritional or financial assistance. Patients who are qualified to receive public assistance are enrolled in the appropriate program(s) with the help of the program’s dedicated coordinator.
Although prenatal classes are currently cancelled, they will resume soon. Please check back for updated information. However, call Shanice Williams at the Healthy Baby Network at 708-915.3825, to receive information regarding breastfeeding, childbirth preparation and infant care.

Family Birth Center Tour
Expectant parents are invited to tour the maternity suites at the University of Chicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial. and see the advantages of delivering their baby in a beautiful, state-of-the-art room offering the optimum in comfort and technology. Labor, delivery, recovery, and post partum care all occur in the same room, allowing new parents to fully enjoy those first cherished moments with their new baby.
The tour includes:
- UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial admission procedures, including pre-admission forms
- Practical information that will answer any remaining questions you may have regarding your stay
- Information regarding pediatricians and doulas
