On Saturday July 29th the UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial sponsored Kidfest, a back to school event hosted by our community partners Family Christian Health Center! The sponsorship is made possible through the Community Relations division, EDGE, our employee giving group, and the Ingalls Development Foundation. UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial Hospital has been a title sponsor since Kidfest started 23 years ago.
The event helped provide vaccines and school physicals for hundreds of community children free of charge or for a $15 fee through private insurance. Affordable Access to Care is critical to our Southland communities and we are grateful for the opportunity to participate in this event.
This year Kidfest served over 650 kids with:
• Immunizations
• Dental screenings
• 1,000 backpacks and school supplies
• 1,000 lunches
• 800 lbs of fresh fruit and vegetables to take home
• Reading books
• Access to community support services
